20 Things Learned
Google created a resume of the 20 things “they” learned about browsers.
It’s kind of fun to browse through it and check the illustrations created by Christoph Niemann

As a member of the A-List Blogging Club I get the opportunity to discover numerous blogs and see their evolution. It’s a great way to open the mind to tons of information and fun things.
One of the nice blogs I discovered is Positively Beauty written by Cristina Colli. She has been doing a great job so far to build up a good...

Presentation Skills: Gates vs Jobs →
great presentations seem to be so easy to do - and well it’s the secret - the easier they seem to be the better they usually are. The only drawback it’s much more work and training to do, but creating a successful communication is the reason you do the presentation. Aim at being successful.
But how do we achieve that?
Garr Reynolds has a good overview on the evolution of the...

Visualising the Web
BBC News has an interesting collection of data to visualise the web.
The visualisation of the top 100 sites by country is something in between shocking (there is one country dominating the graph) and funny (a really small country, where I happen to live, shows up in it).
To see more of it head over to SuperPower: Visualising the internet

Neutrality or Equality
The discussion about net neutrality has been ongoing for quite some time and is quite active again.
The FCC (Federal Communications Commission) has ongoing discussion with ISPs over it, probably one of the reasons why Google and Verizon came out with a proposal distinguishing between wireless and wired internet access.
Just wondering if Google had already planed it like that in 2006 but back...

Map the World
Maps have always been intriguing to me, at least in the sense that they raise my curiosity and are fun to study. A map of a country for example will let you think of everything that country represents, you’ll figure out how it is structured, some details of its history, where to go to and maybe you’ll be reminded of the places you’ll already went to.
A map thus also is simply a...

Colours in Culture
Sometimes you will associate a colour to a feeling, environment, situation, etc. The graphic below will tell you if other cultures use the same colour as you do.
Red is quite unanimously used for passion (62) whereas choices are quite diverse for respect (72).

Philanthropy - The Challenge
It is via Steve’s “Rethink Philanthropy” that I found out more details about The Giving Pledge.
Bill and Melinda Gates together with Warren Buffet came up with the idea to ask billionaires to commit to giving at least half their fortune.
The pleasure of doing something good and giving shows quite well:
Apart from the general idea what I really like about this is the...

Facebook Privacy
Facebook has grown at a phenomenal level over the past 18 months, from 150 million to 400 million active users globally, over 50% of whom logged into Facebook in any given day. Along the way concern about privacy has grown - probably in a disproportional manner compared to the usage.
Some of this displays as has been highlighted by the New York Times through a simple word count, Facebook’s...

Rösti (German pronunciation: [ˈʁøːʃti]; often spelled Röschti in Swiss German) is a Swiss dish consisting mainly of potatoes. It was originally a common breakfast eaten by farmers in the canton of Bern, but today is eaten all over Switzerland and also in many restaurants in the Western World. Many Swiss people consider rösti a national dish. (more over on Wikipedia)

The New Web Trend Map Brought to Us by iA
a lot of it has already been seen on the web, I found it via swissmiss and later on Mashable, but as iA points out - there have been others talking about this new map.
Apart from the simple fact, that it looks nice - the information in the map is interesting as such. Two of the later comers to twitter are even so meanwhile quite present on the map: the Dalai Lama and Bill Gates, both of which...

Letterpress Dice Prints - Stukenborg
Stukenborg, a Brooklyn-based artist, is using dice to create geometric-pattern prints. I find them quite impressive - just as the idea! On the bed of the letterpress the dices are assorted - its like a puzzle - before being colored by rolling ink on them. At this moment they are ready for an impression which makes quite an impression.
